Saturday Wrap Up. 2014 Calendar Hunt.

Hope you had a great Saturday.  We went out and enjoyed a nice Saturday afternoon walk down by the lake.  Fresh air and exercise were much needed after the busy Christmas rush and all that delicious holiday food.  Have you purchased your new calendar yet?  I have been searching through Etsy today, looking for an unique desk calendar to put next to my computer.  I have enjoyed looking at the fun designs and decided to show you a few of my favorites.  Maybe you can find one to fit your personality.

Are you the modern artist type?

 The Sci-Fi type?

 Perhaps the romantic?

 The world traveling photographer?

 The animal lover?

The journalist?

 A bit rustic perhaps?

I love it!  This one is so me!

Hope you found one to suit your taste and have been inspired to purchase a calendar from a small business owner this year.  Here is a link to check out more amazing 2014 calendars on Etsy.

Make Art. Hot Air Balloons.

Hot Air Balloons ~ Eye Poetry Photography
Art takes flight in this wonderful photograph by Irene Suchocki.   I love how the brown and gold tones make this photo look like a painting.  While I don't have a desire to ride in a balloon, I love watching them as they float effortlessly in the sky.  If I could travel anywhere this week it would be to see the Hot Air Balloons at the Albuquerque New Mexico International Balloon Fiesta.   Happy Friday!

Sunday Afternoon. Photo Shoot.

I spent some time snapping new product photos for my Etsy shop this afternoon.  It is amazing that I got anything done due to the multiple interruptions from our attention starved cat to a ladybug larva trying to occupy the same space as my jewelry.  I somehow managed to pull it all together despite the many distractions around me.  Here's just a few of the pictures I took, what do you think?

Saturday Wrap Up

Fist full week of school is under our belt.  We jumped back into the routine pretty smoothly for all the dragging of feet that was going on in our house.  I'm feeling a little sentimental as this is the last year I will be a mother of school aged children.  My girls will be off to college this time next year and I will be working through 'empty nest syndrome'.  I'm trying to mentally prepare so it doesn't hit me all at once.

I have been working hard this week on my photography.  Trying to take pictures everyday and work on my techniques.  I had my first non-family photo shoot last weekend and took senior pictures for this lovely girl.  We had so much fun and it just reinforced my desire to look for more opportunities.

My husband started making a pallet swing for me yesterday.  I can't wait to have it hanging on my porch.  I will post his tutorial next week when he gets it finished.  Can't wait!

I will be on the lookout for a headboard / footboard after seeing this post by Beyond The Picket Fence.

I loved this Mini Book Tutorial from Ruth Beakley
