Baby It's Cold Outside!

Brrrrr...it's cold outside!  Hello and goodbye "polar vortex"!  I can't say I'll miss you when your gone.  It has been bone chilling cold today and I am happy it is moving out of here tomorrow.  I do love seeing the snow, since it is not a normal occurrence for this part of Missouri.  It was a beautiful day with the sun sparkling on the white frosted ground and the mist swirling across the lake.  I found a poem that summed up the day for most of the country...But the North sighed low, "Snow, snow, more snow!"  Well said Walter De La Mare.

Spring Surprises

Spring is always unpredictable in Missouri.  This year was no exception but with a few added surprises at my house.

The 1st day of Spring brought our 1st big snow.  So pretty while it lasted.  It melted the following day.

My Amaryllis bulb (which was supposed to bloom in Dec/Jan) decided to produce a flower this week!

We had a flock of American White Pelicans drop by for a visit yesterday.  I grabbed my camera and captured this shot before my dogs sent them flying off.
